Beeville, TX — Western Texas College baseball opened non-conference play on the road last week, dropping a four-game series 1–3 to Coastal Bend College.
Game One Recap
Coastal Bend jumped out early, scoring three runs in the first and three more in the third to build an early advantage. The Cougars added a decisive six-run sixth inning to put the game out of reach.
Western Texas finished with eight hits and scored both of its runs in the fifth inning. Luke Trager and Reed Osborne each drove in a run, while Dylan Malone and Florent Riep collected two hits apiece. Sebastian Llamozas scored one of the Westerners' two runs.
On the mound, Jacob Lopez took the loss after working 2.2 innings, allowing six runs (five earned). Brayden Veach provided a bright spot in relief, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings, while Haden Johnson and Luke Rosas also appeared out of the bullpen.

Western Texas struggled offensively in Game Two, managing just five total hits in the loss.
Luke Trager led the Westerners at the plate, going 2-for-4. On the mound, Tyler Spruiell got the start and delivered a solid performance, working five innings while allowing three runs (two earned) and striking out seven.

Game Three Recap
Western Texas bounced back in a big way, defeating Coastal Bend 17–5 behind a dominant offensive performance.
Osborne collected three hits in four at-bats, including a solo home run in the fifth inning, while also singling in the second and third innings.
The Westerners broke the game open with a nine-run second inning, highlighted by RBI hits from Osborne, Trager, Riep, Berndt, and Llamozas, along with a two-run homer by Rester. Six more runs in the third inning, fueled by a three-run home run from Malone.
Western Texas finished the game with 19 hits. Osborne and Berndt each collected three hits, while Rester, Berndt, and Malone drove in three runs apiece. Fuentes, Riep, and Trager each had multiple hits.
On the mound, Brown started for the Westerners, allowing four runs over three innings. Schobel, Craft, and O'Grady combined for relief appearances.

Game Four Recap
Despite a strong offensive showing, Western Texas fell in an 11–10 thriller to Coastal Bend.
Osborne powered the offense with two home runs—one in the second inning and another in the ninth—finishing with three RBIs. Western Texas totaled 14 hits.
A five-run second inning, highlighted by a two-run homer from Osborne. Additional runs from Fuentes, Trager, Rester, and Riep helped the Westerners build leads at multiple points throughout the game.
Coastal Bend ultimately reclaimed the advantage in the sixth inning with a three-run frame, including a two-run home run by Wilson.
Chomel started for Western Texas, allowing six runs (four earned) over 3.1 innings. At the plate, Osborne, Rester, and Trager each collected three hits, while Rester stole two bases as the Westerners finished with four stolen bases and turned two double plays.
