Hill College dominated the first game, overcoming an early deficit to take a 7–1 win. Western Texas College struck first in the opening inning when Luke Trager tripled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Dylan Malone, giving the Westerners a 1–0 lead. That would be the team's only hit of the game, as Hill's pitching staff limited Western to just one hit and two walks while striking out six.
Hill responded with a four-run second inning and added three more in the third to build a 7–1 advantage.

Cole Melton earned the win on the mound and as a Westerner with four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out four. Relief innings were handled by Brayden Veach (2 scoreless), Haden Johnson (2 scoreless), and Branden Brown, who allowed three runs in the ninth.
