Odessa, TX — The Western Texas College baseball team (12-30, 9-15) capped off their series against Odessa College this past weekend, dropping both games 12-6 and 17-9.
Game One
The Westerners couldn't keep pace with the Wranglers in game one. Luke Trager put Western Texas on the board with a two-run home run in the second inning. Odessa College answered quickly, taking a 4-2 lead in the bottom half of the inning.
Sebastian Llamozas responded with a home run to left field in the top of the third to give the Westerners a brief 5-4 lead. However, Odessa regained control in the bottom of the third, using a string of hits and a walk to plate three runs and retake the lead. The Wranglers maintained momentum from there to secure the 12-6 win.
Game Two
Western Texas College struck first in game two, as Garrett Rester singled in a run in the first inning. The Westerners added another in the third when Rester delivered again with an RBI single to make it 2-0.
Odessa College responded in the bottom of the fourth, tying the game at 2-2. The Westerners regained the lead in the fifth with a strong offensive sequence, as Sebastian Llamozas singled, Easton Stewart doubled, Garrett Rester executed a sacrifice bunt, and Luke Trager walked—each contributing to runs that pushed the lead to 6-2.
The Wranglers answered again in the bottom of the fifth, using a triple, an error, and a home run to even the score. In the sixth, Marcleo Torres launched a two-run home run to left field to give Western Texas an 8-6 advantage, and Rester followed with a double to extend the lead to 9-6.
Odessa College then flipped the game in the bottom of the sixth, erupting for 11 runs on seven hits to take a commanding 17-9 lead. A three-run home run highlighted the inning and put the game out of reach.

The Westerners will travel to Plainview, TX, to face Amarillo College on April 17–18. The games will be played at Wayland Baptist University.
