Bio
Justin Schrader brings a diverse playing and coaching background to Western Texas College Baseball, combining collegiate playing experience with athlete development, strength and conditioning, and pitching instruction.
A graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology – Exercise Science, Schrader played six years of collegiate baseball across multiple levels of competition. His playing career included stops at Western Texas College, Louisiana Tech University, The University of Texas at Tyler, and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Over 138 career innings, he recorded 179 strikeouts, 10 wins, and 3 saves while competing against high-level collegiate competition.
Prior to joining Western Texas College, Schrader gained valuable experience in both performance training and player development. He worked with Unlock Physical Therapy as a strength and throwing mechanics coach and collaborated with DSA Fitness as a strength and performance coach, helping athletes improve movement efficiency, strength, and overall athletic performance.
In addition to his role at Western Texas College, Schrader serves as a performance coach at The U Development in Kinder, Louisiana, where he designs individualized strength and conditioning programs and works directly with baseball pitchers on throwing development, velocity enhancement, arm care, and long-term athletic development.
With over five years of private coaching and player development experience, Schrader has helped guide and develop more than 25 pitchers who have gone on to compete at collegiate baseball programs across the country. His coaching philosophy emphasizes individualized athlete development, movement efficiency, performance optimization, and helping players maximize their potential both on and off the field.
As a former collegiate athlete who competed at the junior college, NCAA Division I, and NCAA Division II levels, Schrader brings a unique perspective to player development and recruiting, helping student-athletes navigate their own path to success in collegiate baseball.
