Homelius Drops 30, Westerners Fall Short at No. 18 Odessa
Odessa, TX – A 30-point performance from Isak Homelius wasn't enough as the Westerners (13-12, 5-6) fell to the No. 18 Odessa College Wranglers (17-7, 5-5), 64-60.
How We Got There
Western Texas trailed 28-22 at the break but chipped away at the Wranglers' lead throughout the second half. The Westerners pulled within two at the 15:07 mark, 30-28, before Homelius tied the game 35-35 with 13:00 remaining on one of his five three-pointers in the half.
Later in the half, Jalen Brown pushed the lead to 10 with just under 10 minutes to play. The Wranglers then went on an 11-0 run to take control, 55-50.
Western Texas battled back down the stretch, but Odessa sealed the win at the free throw line and with a late three-pointer to secure the 64-60 victory.
