19th-Ranked Men’s Rodeo Team Places Second in Levelland
Levelland, TX — The 19th-ranked men's rodeo team delivered a strong performance at the South Plains College Rodeo this past weekend, finishing second overall.
Lane Vaughan led the way with a first-place finish in bull riding, posting an impressive 160 points. Teammate Jhett Wheeler added to the effort with a fourth-place finish, scoring 85 points.
In saddle bronc riding, Eyer Morrison secured second place with a total score of 140. Morrison showed notable improvement, moving from an 80 in the first go to an 84 in the short go. Bryett Larsen followed with a third-place finish in the same event.
Ty Hawkes contributed in bareback riding, placing third with 115 points.
On the women's side, Georgia Shields earned a third-place finish in goat tying, while Savannah Wilson placed seventh in barrel racing.
This rodeo marks the conclusion of the Caprock Region regular season.

The team will head to the College Rodeo Finals in Casper, Wyoming, scheduled for June 14–20.
