Snyder, TX – Men's soccer bounced back dominantly Wednesday afternoon, shutting out Eastern Arizona College 6-0 at home.
The Westerners rebounded after a 0-2 setback to Blinn College on Sunday.
Myles Taylor scored in the 17th minute with his second goal of the season, finishing a setup from Christian Georgi. Less than 20 minutes later, Hector Montoya netted his first of the season in the 34th minute.
The Westerners carried their momentum into the second half, as Philipp Federer scored his first of the year in the 49th minute off a pass from Pablo Lobon. Carl Emil Pedersen added a fourth goal at the 65-minute mark, his second of the season, assisted by Johnny Cuellar.
Cuellar then put his stamp on the match with back-to-back goals in the 80th and 82nd minutes, both Federer assisted to seal the 6-0 result.
On the defensive end, goalkeeper Brian Garcia earned his first shutout of the season, recording three saves.
The Westerners will now turn their attention to the road, traveling to Garden City, Kansas, on Friday, September 5, to face Garden City Community College at Broncbuster Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
