Coach Stefan Campos begins his fourth year at Western Texas College as the assistant coach for the cross country and track and field teams. Campos is excited for another year to work alongside Coach James Williams and Coach Trinity Williams.
Last year the women’s and men’s team placed 6th at the Outdoor National Championship Meet at New Mexico Junior College.
During his second season assisting the cross country program, the men’s team made their first national appearance since 2012. In track, he helped coach two indoor school record holders and two outdoor school record holders.
Prior to Western Texas College, Campos was a graduate assistant at Tarleton State University under Head Coach Pat Ponder where he worked with the middle distance and long distance runners. During his time at Tarleton, Campos had the opportunity to work with the men’s and women’s cross country teams who placed 2nd and 1st at the Lone Star Conference Championships, respectively.
As a former cross country and track and field athlete at Tarleton State, Campos holds the indoor school record in the 1,000 meter run.
Campos, a graduate of Jourdanton High School, earned his undergraduate in business administration and master’s degree in Kinesiology from Tarleton.
