Cross Country: Men Top No. 5 Odessa at Naimadu Classic
Abilene, TX — Western Texas College cross country performed well at the Naimadu Classic on Friday night, with the men's team defeating No. 5-ranked Odessa College and the women's team placing third.
The men's team scored 52 points, led by freshman Hayden Scott in 8th place (18:47). Freshmen John Alcantar (9th), Rosbel Barrera (11th), Kyle Trantham (14th), and Jason Dodd (16th) completed the scoring five.
The women's team finished third with 72 points, paced by freshman Cierra Garcia in 7th (15:06). She was followed by Zoe Zepeda (18th), Yuriana Hernandez (19th), Genesis Serratos (21st), Madison Stern-Regalado (26th), and Leah Cortez (28th).
Western Texas returns to action September 12 at the Texas Tech Open in Lubbock.
