Corsicana, TX — The Lady Westerners (15–11, 0–0) continued their road trip Thursday with a non-conference doubleheader against Navarro College in Corsicana.
Game One
Navarro struck first in the bottom of the first inning. The Bulldogs later loaded the bases, but Madison Roberts worked out of the jam with a strikeout and a fielder's choice to limit the damage.
Western Texas tied the game in the top of the third when Ava Ramriez reached on a Bulldog fielder's choice to make it 1–1. The Lady Westerners then took a 2–1 lead later in the inning with a bases-loaded walk.
Navarro responded in the bottom of the sixth, scoring two runs on a bases-loaded single and a sacrifice fly to take a 3–2 lead. The Lady Westerners finished the game with four hits in the loss.
Game Two
Western Texas bounced back in game two, using a big fourth inning to secure a 4–1 win and split the series.
The Lady Westerners scored all four runs in the top of the fourth inning. Western Texas capitalized on multiple Navarro errors, while Janie Rodriguez added a single down the left-field line and Juarez followed with a single to left field, each driving in a run.
