Midland, TX — The Lady Westerners (17-17, 0-4) wrapped up their two-game series on Saturday, falling to the Lady Chaps 15-6 and 7-0.
Game One
Western Texas fell behind early as the Lady Chaps erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Lady Westerners answered over the next two frames, starting with an Ava Ramirez RBI single to get on the board.
A few batters later, Briyana Medina launched a three-run home run to cut the deficit to 7-4. Western Texas continued to battle back, 6-7 in the top of the fourth inning after Anely Paz delivered a solo home run to left field and an error brought in another run.
Midland responded immediately with a home run of its own in the bottom half of the inning, then pulled away with six runs in the fifth to secure a run-rule victory.
Game Two
The Lady Chaps used a five-run fourth inning to take control and never looked back, defeating the Lady Westerners 7-0.
Western Texas recorded five hits in the contest, with Janie Rodriguez leading the way, going 2-for-4 at the plate.
