Lady Westerners Wrap Up Non-Conference Play at Temple
Temple, TX — 2026 tipped off for the Lady Westerners as they headed to Temple, TX, to face Temple College in their final non-conference game on friday afternoon.
How we got there
The opening quarter featured a tight, back-and-forth battle, with neither team able to gain a significant lead early. Midway through the first quarter, Temple College used a decisive 10–0 run to take control. The Lady Westerners answered in the second quarter with a 12–2 run of their own, but the Leopards maintained momentum and went into halftime with a 33–19 advantage.
Temple continued to dictate the pace in the second half, outscoring Western Texas 29–24 over the final two quarters. Despite improved shooting and defensive effort, the Lady Westerners were unable to cut into the deficit and fell 62–43.
