Odessa, TX — The Western Texas College Lady Westerners (1-24, 1-8) dropped a 74-39 conference contest to Odessa College (10-16, 2-8) Monday night.
How We Got There
Western Texas came out sharp in the opening quarter, building an early 8-3 lead while holding the Lady Wranglers to just 1-of-12 shooting (8%) from the field in the first frame.
Momentum shifted in the second quarter as Odessa College responded with a decisive 24-5 run to take control of the game. The Lady Wranglers carried that surge into halftime and continued to extend their lead throughout the second half.
By the Numbers
The Lady Westerners finished the night shooting 32.0% from the floor (16-50), including a season-low 10.5% from three-point range (2-19). They went 5-of-10 from the free-throw line (50%).
Despite offensive struggles, Western Texas controlled the glass with 42 total rebounds — their highest total since December 10 at Cisco. Of those 42 boards, 38 came on the defensive end, along with four offensive rebounds and 16 credited team rebounds.
