SNYDER, TX — The Lady Westerners (1–26, 1–10) fell 66–35 Monday night to Clarendon College.
Kendall Carlock led Western Texas with 13 points and four steals.
How We Got There
Western Texas trailed 9–2 early in the first quarter and struggled to recover as Clarendon steadily built its lead to as many as 31 points.
By The Numbers
Western shot 27.5 percent (11-of-40) from the field and 14.3 percent (3-of-21) from three-point range, while Clarendon finished at 43.6 percent overall. The Lady Westerners were efficient at the free-throw line (10-of-13, 76.9%).
Clarendon controlled the glass, 49–21, marking a season-low rebounding total for Western. The Bulldogs also held advantages in points in the paint (36–10), second-chance points (17–3), fastbreak points (16–4), and assists (15–5).
Western recorded 11 steals — the seventh double-digit steal game of the season — but committed 27 turnovers, which led to a 32–6 deficit in points off turnovers. The bench contributed 25 of the team's 35 total points.
