Bio
A native of Borger, Texas, Purswell brings over a decade of junior college coaching experience. He most recently served as head women’s basketball coach at Coastal Bend College (2017–2025), leading the program to its first-ever regional tournament appearance and four total regional berths. His tenure produced 12 All-Conference players, nine NJCAA Academic Honorees, and a graduation rate above 90%, with over 20 athletes advancing to four-year programs.
Purswell also coached both women’s and men’s teams at Frank Phillips College (2013–2017), contributing to multiple winning seasons and mentoring two NJCAA Academic All-Americans.
He holds a Master’s in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University–Irvine, a Bachelor’s from West Texas A&M, and an Associate degree from Frank Phillips College, where he was a decorated student-athlete.
