Bio

Jayla Everett was instrumental in a lot of accomplishments for Western Texas Women's Basketball in her first season coaching.  She helped guide the team to nine graduates, a 3.62 team GPA, and eight sophomores moving onto play at a four year level.  She brings a player first mentality on developing skills, confidence, leadership, and competitive excellence.  Everett has shown she is very passionate about helping student-athletes reach their full potential.

Jayla Everett is originally from St. Louis, Missouri. She began her collegiate basketball career at the University of New Mexico, where she was named Mountain West Freshman of the Year and earned First Team All-Mountain West honors. She then transferred to the University of Pittsburgh, where she continued to excel, receiving ACC Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-ACC recognition.

Jayla finished her collegiate career at St. John’s University in New York, earning Unanimous First Team All-Big East honors in her fifth year. Following graduation, she was invited to the Connecticut Sun training camp before taking a year off from basketball. She later returned to play professionally in Greece for her final season.
