Lady Westerners Finishes in Waco River Classic
Waco, TX -Wildah Jarestam led the way, firing rounds of 84 and 73 for a 36-hole total of 157 (+13). Jarestam's second round stood out as she trimmed 11 strokes off her opening score, carding a 36–37 split with 13 pars and a birdie to deliver the team's low round of the tournament.
Close behind was sophomore Brooke Ahn, who posted scores of 82 and 75 for her own 157 (+13) finish. Ahn rebounded from a challenging first round by shaving off seven strokes in round two, highlighted by nine pars and steady play down the stretch.
Lupita Barbosa followed with rounds of 80 and 81 for a 161 (+17) total. She opened with a strong 39 on her first nine holes and closed with a consistent back nine in round two to provide another reliable score for Western Texas.
Freshman Caitlin Feeney also contributed solid play in her debut, shooting 81–83 for a 164 (+20) total. Her opening-round back nine of 37 was among the best single-nine scores for the Lady Westerners during the tournament.
Rounding out the lineup was fellow freshman Sienna Thumwood, who carded 86–82 for a 168 (+24) finish.
Up next the Lady Westners will head to Alto NM on Sepember 22nd and 23rd.
