Snyder, TX- Women's Soccer team kicked off its 2025 season in impressive fashion Saturday afternoon, earning a commanding 7–1 win over Dallas College Eastfield at home.
It was a setback from last season's matchup on September 5, 2024, when the Lady Westerners fell in a 3–4 battle. This time, WTC wasted no time setting the tone.
Two minutes into the match, Rosa Emma Ortega found the back of the net off an assist from Emilia Alvarez, sparking an early scoring surge.
Moments later, Magalie De Alba doubled the lead with help from Ortega.
The Lady Westerners continued to apply pressure as Ortega struck again in the 16th minute, followed by De Alba's second goal in the 26th, pushing WTC ahead 4–0 at halftime.
In the second half, the offensive depth shone as Lesly Campos, Ella Faith Schultz, and Alvarez each added goals, with De Alba and Coral Castaneda providing key assists.
On the defensive side, WTC's goalkeepers split time in the net. Mika Stanfield recorded three saves in the first half, while Analie Duarte added one in the second. The pair combined to hold Eastfield to just one late goal in the 89th minute.
Overall, the Lady Westerners outshot their opponent 21–3 and controlled the game's pace from start to finish.
