WTC Track Competes at NJCAA Indoor Championships

Western Texas College men and women track teams have concluded their indoor season by competing in the 2021 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held March 5-6 at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Day 1 Highlights:

• Maricia Spence placed 4^th in the Pentathlon and earned All-American honors
• The distance medley team of Shadae Findley, Niesha Burgher, Latifah Pinnock, and Gloria Aguilera placed 8^th
• Jovanna Gustave ran a personal best in the 60
• Chelsey Agyemang ran a personal best in the 60
• Shadae Findley advanced to Day 2 final in the 800
• Daylin Williams advanced to Day 2 final in the 60 hurdles
• Jauavney James advanced to Day 2 final in the 600

Day 2 Highlights:

• Shadae Findley finished 3^rd in the 800, earning All-American honors
• Gloria Aguilera finished 11^th in the 1 mile
• Daylin Williams finished 8^th in the 60 hurdles, earning All-American honors
• Jauavney James finished 6^th in the 600, earning All-American honors

Overall, four Westerners earned All-American honors. The women’s team finished in 13^th as a team while the men finished in 22^nd. WTC Track will now begin their outdoor season on Saturday, March 20, at the Wes Kittley Invitational in Abilene, Texas.
