Westerners Post Strong Final Marks, Led by Nation’s Top 4x400 Relay
Austin, TX-The Westerners track and field team closed out another top performance this past week in the Texas Relays hosted by University of Texas.
Shamer Blake led the way in the men's 400m hurdles, finishing 4th with a time of 50.53.
In the men's 1500m, Gage Harris turned in a strong run, placing 3rd with a time of 3:56.88, while teammate John Alcantar finished 8th, crossing the line in 4:03.94.
In the field events, Julius Dawkins placed 9th in the triple jump with a mark of 14.26 meters (46-9.50).
The Westerners relay teams also delivered impressive performances. The men's 4x400m relay team captured a 3rd place finish with a time of 3:06.97.Team members included DaShaun Lezama, Jayden Palacios, Elvin Belepe, Brandon Hinds.
In the men's 4x800m relay, the Westerners placed 6th with a time of 7:45.49.The relay squad featured Daniel Ortiz, Gage Harris, Sean Paul Simmonds, John Alcanta.
On the women's side, the 4x100m relay team posted a time of 46.02. The team consisted of Shagay Sheppy, Alliah Baker, Daynea Colstock, and Charlize Fraser.
