Snyder, TX — Western Texas College exploded for 18 runs on 16 hits Saturday, rolling past San Jacinto College, 18–0.
Ithalia Ozuna powered the offense, driving in six runs on two hits. She launched a three-run home run to right field in the first inning and added a bases-clearing three-run double in the second.
Western wasted no time getting on the board at the bottom of the first. Janie Rodriguez singled in a run, Honey Morales followed with an RBI double, Olivia Marks and Anely Paz each added RBI singles, and Ozuna's three-run blast pushed the lead to 7–0.
The momentum continued in the second inning as Western plated six more runs on five hits. Karissa Juarez tripled home a run, Vasquez added an RBI single, Ozuna cleared the bases with her double, and Ava Ramriez drove in another with a double of her own.
Western added five runs in the third. Two runs scored on an error, Paz delivered an RBI single, Rodriguez drove in a run after being hit by a pitch, and Morales capped the inning with an RBI single.
In the circle, Roberts was dominant, allowing just one hit over five shutout innings while striking out five and walking none.
Ramriez set the tone at the top of the order, going 3-for-4 from the leadoff spot — her third three-hit performance of the season. Western did significant damage in key moments, driving in 14 of its 18 runs with two outs.
Game Two: Western 15, San Jacinto 7
