Game One: Temple 5, Western Texas 0
Temple delivered an inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the first inning. The Leopards added to their lead in the third behind a double.
Madison Roberts got the start for Western Texas, allowing nine hits and four runs over three innings while walking two.
Sofia Medina, Laney Vasquez, and Olivia Marks each recorded one hit for the Lady Westerners.
Game Two: Temple 11, Western Texas 1
Temple wasted no time in the second game, plating runs in the first inning after a double to center, and a Western Texas error brought in a run.
The Leopards extended their lead in the second inning with another run batted in. In the third, they added multiple runs, including a double and a pair of singles that drove in additional runs, further widening the gap.
Ithalia Ozuna started in the circle for Western Texas, surrendering five hits and five runs (two earned) over two innings. Temple's Eskert opened the game and allowed one hit over two and one-third innings.
Western Texas will aim to bounce back on Friday, February 27, when they travel to face Ranger College for a doubleheader scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
