Odessa, TX – The Lady Westerners (20-22, 3-9) dropped all four games in their series against Odessa College this weekend.
Game One
Ava Ramriez opened the scoring early for the Lady Westerners with a three-run triple in the bottom of the first inning. The Lady Wranglers answered by tying the game in the top of the fourth, then took the lead in the fifth by scoring two runs. Odessa went on to secure a 7-3 win.
Madison Roberts took the circle for the Lady Westerners, tossing a complete game. She allowed eight hits and seven runs (three earned) over seven innings while striking out three and walking three.
Game Two
Game two featured a pitching duel between Ithalia Ozuna and Odessa College's Seniah Haines, who combined for 14 strikeouts.
Ozuna got the start for Western Texas College, allowing five hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings. She struck out eight and walked two. Haines gave up five hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking one.
The Lady Wranglers struck early, scoring in the first inning and adding another in the second on a solo home run.
Game Three
The Lady Wranglers got to work early, taking a 1-0 lead in the second inning. They added two more runs in the fourth to pull away. Honey Morales recorded the first hit of the game for the Lady Westerners.
Game Four
Odessa College got on the board in the bottom of the first inning following a groundout and a Lady Westerners error, each resulting in a run.
Janie Rodriguez set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Western Texas College with two hits in three at-bats. Briyana Madrid added an RBI for the Lady Westerners.
